Byggstudio is a Norwegian-Swedish design studio run by Sofia Østerhus and Hanna Nilsson since 2006. We work interdisciplinary within the areas of design, landscape architecture and public art to create playful meeting places in public space, specializing on children and young people.
We are trained in visual communication at Danmarks Designskole in Copenhagen and landscape architecture at SLU in Alnarp and AHO in Oslo. Our work includes research, design, concept development, co-creation, project management, analysis and production for environments.
A particular interest is to create play spaces that are sensitive to children’s (people’s) need of tactile environments through plants, various materials and place-based learning.
